1. Who we are
BMSG Wealth Management Ltd ("BMSG", "we", "us", "our") is an independent financial advisory firm authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA Registration No. 929810) and incorporated in England & Wales (Companies House No. 12573302).

We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
2. What data we collect
When you choose to contact us, the information you provide may include:
- Your full name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- The content of your enquiry or message
- An optional country / region, used for grouped enquiry reporting
- WhatsApp conversation data, where you initiate contact with us via WhatsApp
If you explicitly allow optional analytics, we also collect limited browsing measurements, described in section 6. Browsing measurements are kept separate from enquiry contact details.
3. Why we collect it
Enquiry forms securely record your contact details, message, selected services and consent so authorised BMSG staff can respond and manage follow-up. Enquiries may generate a staff notification through our email service provider, Resend; the full enquiry message is kept in the secure admin area rather than copied into that automated notification.
We collect and process your personal data for the following purposes:
- Responding to financial enquiries — to reply to contact form submissions and WhatsApp messages you send us (lawful basis: legitimate interest / contract performance).
- Compliance with regulatory obligations — as an FCA-regulated firm we are required to maintain records of financial communications (lawful basis: legal obligation).
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. How long we keep it
FCA rules (SYSC 9) require us to retain records of financial communications and client-related correspondence for a minimum of 5 years. Where a client relationship is established, records may be retained for up to 7 years following the end of the relationship. Data that does not result in a client relationship will be deleted within 12 months of the enquiry.
5. Your rights under UK GDPR
Under UK GDPR (retained from the EU General Data Protection Regulation following Brexit), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — to request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data (subject to our legal obligations)
- Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to restrict processing — to request that we limit how we use your data
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@bmsgwealth.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
6. Cookies
This website uses essential storage to work properly. We use no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.
Optional analytics. Only if you choose "Allow optional analytics", we collect first-party analytics: random browser and session IDs (hashed on our server), the public page route, a safe source category, contact actions such as clicking call or email, and a successful form event. We derive an approximate region from your IP address using a local lookup database; no visitor IP is sent to the database provider. Analytics does not retain raw IP addresses, coordinates, contact details or form messages. Reports cover at most 90 days; older events are removed by hourly expiry cleanup while the service is running and on its next analytics activity after a pause. Choosing "Essential only" stops future tracking immediately and requests removal of retained events linked to your current browser identifier. A hashed withdrawal marker is retained for 90 days to prevent late requests from recreating those events. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie preferences" in the footer. An earlier essential-only choice does not count as analytics consent.
Optional enquiry region. Our forms let you optionally select a country or region. This is stored with your enquiry, separately from analytics, works whether or not you allow analytics, and follows the existing retention for enquiries.
Essential cookies we use:
| Browser storage | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
| bmsg_analytics_browser_v1 | Random browser identifier, created only after opt-in | 90 days of inactivity; checked on next visit |
| bmsg_analytics_session_v1 | Random session identifier and coarse source category | 30 minutes of inactivity or closing the tab |
| bmsg_analytics_erase_v1 | Temporary removal request token, used only to retry a failed withdrawal | Until removal is acknowledged |
| bmsg_analytics_consent_v1 | Stores your analytics choice (allowed or essential only) | Persistent (localStorage) |
You can clear cookies and browser storage at any time through your browser settings.
7. Third-party services
External services have their own privacy policies. Following an external link, or loading an embedded map or video, may share connection information with that provider and may allow it to use cookies, depending on your browser settings. The BMSG analytics choice controls our first-party measurement, not those providers' services.
- Embedded maps and videos — where Google Maps, YouTube or Vimeo embeds are displayed, the provider can receive technical connection data when the embed loads. Its own privacy and cookie policies apply.
- BBC News headlines — news headlines are fetched server-side from the BBC. No BBC code runs in your browser and no BBC cookies are set.
- Financial market data — market prices and indices are fetched server-side. No third-party market data scripts run in your browser.
- WhatsApp — if you click one of our WhatsApp contact links, you will be directed to WhatsApp (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.). Any data shared via WhatsApp is subject to WhatsApp's own Privacy Policy. Clicking a WhatsApp link is entirely voluntary.
